Tracking, Continued
Stay on target ...
I've switched from www.MyFitnessPal.com to www.cronometer.com because it provides detailed tracking for free. I also prefer its interface. To get the same tracking in MFP costs $10/month or $50 for the year. Conversely, the Crono premium is $6/mo or $35/year.
Caveats for those who are considering the switch - the database is less filled out, so if you eat out a lot you'll be doing a lot of custom entry. Also, the app is -not- free like it is with MFP - ~$3 on its own, or free if you upgrade to the premium version of Crono.
In any event, Monday was a good day, over all. I ended up about 100 calories short of my goal and didn't go to bed feeling hungry.
However, my nutrient intake was jacked.
| The only one's I hit are due to vitamin supplements |
So today I decided to make a change, and see what I could do with a salad. Spinach base, with cucumber, celery, lima beans, black olives (of course), a spoonful of real bacon bits, grilled chicken, doused in olive oil and topped with a bit of balsamic vinegar for taste.
Here's where I'm at today - mind you, the above was the entire day yesterday.
| Much better |
I really like Crono's ability to give me detailed insight into my dietary deficiencies, especially as I'm trying to build better eating habits. Macros just don't cut it for me (although I -really- need to take a look at my carb intake).
Oh, one other thing about Crono that I find helpful over MFP - custom recipes. Got something you make custom on the regular? You can do all the math yourself if you want ... or just make a recipe and track what goes into it. So much nicer.
Oh, you were expecting my weigh-in today, weren't you? Yeah, I meant to do that this morning, but I was in a bit of a rush due to a presentation I'm giving corporate leadership today. I could do it tonight, but I'd rather be fasted. We'll try again tomorrow.
